Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can master. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and its culture as well as the environment. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. It was impossible to learn, do or work enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This will have a significant impact on the way she prepares her food. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children who are facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the United States to discuss her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate to be able to communicate her love of cooking to others.
