Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress from England. She has been
awarded an Empire Award and been nominated for two Gemini Awards, two Critics
Choice Awards, as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in
Reading, Berkshire. She became famous in the role of Anne Boleyn, a character
she played on the Showtime series The Tudors (2008), that earned her acclaim.
In Sweet Nothings (2010), she made her stage debut. She she also played the Duchess
of York in Madonna's W.E. (2011) as well as Private Lorraine in Captain America
the First Avenger (2011). The Young Vic praised her performance in After Miss
Julie (2012). Dormer was highly praised for her performance in the show After
Miss Julie (2012) at the Young Vic. She was also a part of Irene Adler/Moriarty
on the CBS series Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price (2016, 2017) and
Onica in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her character in Penny
Dreadful: City of Angels the miniseries about Penny Dreadful, was highly
appreciated. Dormer was born in Reading (Berkshire), England on the 11th of
February, 1982. She is the daughter of Gary Dormer, Claire Richards, and
Samantha Dormer.
